Find columns, tables and dashboards in your data environment.

Quick Search

At any point of working in Alvin you can access the Quick Search bar without exiting the current page. Hit the button on top of the main menu or use ⌘ Command/Ctrl + K.

You can look up your data assets by their name, description or tags using free text.

By default the selected result will open in the same tab. If you don't want to exit it yet, right-click it to open it in a new one.

You will be directed to the Entity View page. Check out this page to learn what you will find.

Entity Search

Whenever you want to browse the results with more detail, or in any situation in which the Quick Search doesn't cut it, click the button below the results to open the Detailed Search page.

From there, you can refine the search threefold.

Entity types

Filter out dashboards, tables or columns.

Labels

Click on any label to move between entity groups with tags.

Columns

Modify the result set using the column picklist. The columns you choose are mirrored in your export.

Export the results

To share or save the results copy the URL from your browser, or export them to a CSV, Parquet, JSON or Avro file.
